Ex Animo, Ex Animus

so I just realized that I forgot to post this–anyway,

What is Ex Animo, Ex Animus?

Ex Animo, Ex Animus is an Medieval role-playing game that is currently being developed on the RPG Maker VX program by The House of Brandenburg. Set in late 14th century Europa, the game will seek to fully immerse theĀ  player into an accurate and believable world of feudal lordship, omnipresent social hierarchies and brutal religious strife. So far the game will contain four characters, each of whom–with their completely original, though sometimes intertwining stories–will represent one of the major powers of the time period.

Who All is Involved?

As of now, I (Lyonn) am the sole artisan charged with the sacred duty of creating/compiling this game; however, due to the unfortunate fact that I not only refuse to put in the loads and loads of man hours to attempt to learn scripting–after application of which hours I’d only realized that I suck as at it–but I already know that I’d suck ass at it, ergo I will be looking for assistance–particularly in the scripting arena as well as others.

Ex Animo, Ex Animus Character–Magdalena die Moskowiterin

Following is an introduction/mini bio on the co-protagonist of Brunhilde’s story.

(There are three of them in total ;) )

Magdalena die Moskowiterin

Displayed in her casual/work summer dress

(note: this is a truncated version of her bio aimed to reduce spoilers)
(second note: As usual the above portrait is a WIP–also, special thanks to the guys at CLOSET for giving me the inspiration and the base model with which to make this character)

Born in the hinterlands of the principality of Muscovy, in present day Russia, Magdalena was but a child when confronted with the brutal reality that made itself omnipresent in the cold lands of the Rus in the east. Being a subject peoples to the Mongolian Golden Horde, the early Russian principality of Muscovy constantly saw its people passed under the yoke of their foreign overloads in more ways than one. Though not endorsed by either nations, the brutal hinterlands were often vulnerable to the occasional raid from neighboring Mongol tribes of the Golden Horde, thirsty for plunder and the thrill of battle–A young Magdalena was was captured in this way and taken into slavery–bound for the Black Sea port of Caffa.

As chance would have it, Otto von Kelheim, a foreigner with business in Caffa, happened upon a recently escaped young girl in search of sanctuary from her former captives. After a period of consideration, Otto von Kelheim agreed to take the girl to his homeland of Bavaria. Upon arriving back at Kelheim, the young girl was put to work as a servant to the house of Kelheim and given the name “Magdalena”. Taken in by a branch of the recently established and nearby German school of swordsmanship of the Gesellschaft Liechtenauers (Liechtenauer’s Society), Magdalena was raised as a student there–eventually employing her abilities as a guardian and mentor to a “soon to be born” Brunhilde.

Just a FYI, “die Moskowiterin” is German meaning “the Muscovite” which in these days denoted a person from The Principality of Muscovy. It is an appended name, given to her by her German contemporaries, meaning that she is from that area.
